CAMP - ALL YEAR LONG!

Camp Kinneret is proud to be affiliated with Canadian Young Judaea (CYJ), Canada’s oldest and most vibrant Zionist Youth Movement. Throughout the fall, winter and spring, we invite our campers to participate in activities and programs that are designed to strengthen friendships made at camp and introduce new campers to their future bunk mates. These activities and programs are designed and implemented by our oldest campers, our CYJ Youth Council, under the guidance and direction of our staff.

CYJ UNITS

ALUMIM (grades 1-5)

Alumim programs are for our Giborim, Goshrim Katan and Goshrim Gadol campers. With so many new campers joining camp at this age, the main goal is to give everyone the opportunity to meet their future cabinmates, before the summer even begins, for fun and engaging events. Some events include our annual Hanukkah Party, Chocolate Seder, and Skate nights!

Chalutzim (grades 6-7)

Chalutzim or Pioneers, come together to learn about the value of Tikkun Olam, Repairing the World, in a fun and engaging setting. This program is designed to transition our campers from Alumim, and start learning about this important value. Chanichim can expect to get a better understanding of what a social justice cause is, and start their leadership development.

JOLT - Jewish outreach leadership training (grades 8-10)

JOLT is Canadian Young Judaea’s flagship program for teen community outreach. During the year, JOLT partners with various organizations to give teens the chance to bring about positive change within the community. JOLT is available for our teens, and runs from October to the end of May.  By joining JOLT, campers will receive a minimum of 20 community service hours at the end of the year. JOLT participants actively engage in social causes, meet many new people and make new friends.

CYJ YOUTH COUNCIL (Grades 9-11)

The CYJ Montreal Youth Council is a team of dedicated teens who volunteer in our community to enhance the time not spent at camp. Our council plans all of the programs listed above and actively seek to engage our campers through creative initiatives. They work in conjunction with other CYJ Youth Council’s in Toronto, Halifax and Vancouver.
